For quite some time, I have wanted to throw a tea party amongst my lady friends. I’ve only let it stew as an idea and nothing more, but I found a pretty tea set at a coffee shop and purchased it in hopes that I would put it to good use. Being a huge fan of Alice in Wonderland, I feel that it’s my duty. The closest thing to a tea party that I’ve ever attended (aside from this month’s Atlanta Tea Party protest with a bunch of boys, which is totally different) was my makeup artist friend’s Alice themed birthday last year. Everyone was in costume and she had a table of goodies all set up.

Now that I live by a small lake with flocks of geese and ducks, I think that a grand tea party/picnic is in order.

Elevation Chophouse and Skybar

Elevation Chophouse and Skybar is a high quality dining experience you won’t want to miss if you’re ever in the Metro-Atlanta area. Located at McCollum Airport, this restaurant is basically right on the runway so you can enjoy watching planes take off and land as you eat and/or grab drinks. They have brunch every Sunday from 11-3, 50% off all wines every Wednesday and live music every Friday & Saturday night. My boyfriend is a pilot and has worked at the airport forever, so I’ve eaten there with him on occasion. I like their chicken tenders, pasta and “Something Chocolate” off the dessert menu. They host events for almost every holiday. We’ve dressed up for their Halloween party, went around Christmas with the family and had mimosas on Easter morning. Take your date for a romantic evening or go drinking with your friends and enjoy sports events on all the flat screens!

Yankee Candle lantern (around $20 @ Yankee Candle)

While rummaging through a box of trinkets that I had forgotten about after moving around so much, I rediscovered this darling lantern from Yankee Candle that my mother got for me a couple of years ago. She also got one for herself. Now that they’re all sold out, I wish I had gone back for more. I love the Tiffany’s blue and victorian appearance. I started browsing the net for more pretty little lanterns and other various outdoor decor. I live in a third floor (of 4) apartment in Metro-Atlanta or I would have a beautifully decorated porch. We get too much tornado-ish weather ’round these parts and I wouldn’t be a happy camper if anything nice was damaged or blown away. Perhaps later on I could find a screened porch or an area that isn’t hit by crazy storms so often.

I go a little crazy with this stuff, I know. But there are so many fun things out there. Summer is the perfect time for keeping your guests (and yourself) entertained! Liven up your home with a nice bar set, unique kitchenware, the works. Turn your place into a modern lounge that your friends can’t wait to visit. I would also suggest using a lavender or mango home fragrance to set the mood. Try Bath & Body Works or Crabtree & Evelyn.

Anthropologie interior Anthropologie decor (candle holders & drawer knobs)

I could live in Anthropologie. Everything about this store makes me happy. If I could afford it, my entire home would be decked out in decor from there. Everything has such a beautiful antique-ish feel to it. I browsed the website and picked out my favorite things that I would absolutely love to obtain. Doing so got me thinking about some of the pretty little things that I already have, but never really notice anymore because I always want more. It’s a girl thing. It’s the little things that make all the difference. Especially if you can find look-a-likes for a much more reasonable price. The majority of the following came from: Target, Linens ‘n Things & Bed Bath & Beyond.
