Bag Lady

I’m an avid collector of bags (along with shoes, cosmetics & lingerie). My closet is literally overflowing with them. While a girl can’t resist purchasing the occasional handbag/clutch/etc. on a whim, we tend to overlook necessity and favor that lust at first sight feeling we get the first time we spot the latest Chanel bag. Think: cross body bags, totes, weekenders and even makeup bags. All versatile organizers for gals on the go. The sight of such things put me in a traveling mood. A mood I need to switch into fairly soon as the boyfriend and I will be frolicking about this holiday season.

You might notice a pattern here. I love bright colors. Obviously (that isn’t really news). Especially when it comes to travel bags. When you have unique luggage, it stands out from everyone else and is easier to spot in a sea of dull colors. A busy airport during the holiday season is quite a stressful scene. Of course, you could always choose to fly privately (dating a pilot can be convenient). I use the Hello Kitty tote as a carryon bag for flights, the weekender as a toiletry bag or overnight bag, the cross body bag comes in handy when traveling around because it doesn’t get in the way of anything and is quite durable, my Loop NYC luggage fits everything in the world and a makeup case is perfect for those of us who can’t go anywhere without our cosmetics stash and it saves you from toting all that around in purses. The boyfriend and I tend to travel around 1-3 times a year. For the holidays, we’re heading back to DC (his parents), Michigan (to get more use out of our Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village passes – looking forward to seeing Edgar Allan Poe’s writing desk) and possibly Ohio again (his homeland). For Thanksgiving, as usual, we’re just heading south of Atlanta for my family’s gathering and will be spending the rest of the weekend with friends. A good gal pal of mine is coming in from Chicago and we have some shopping to do. If only New York City was on this year’s itinerary again…
