I believe that nail polish has, indeed, become an accessory all its own. We paint our nails as often as we paint our faces. Back in the old days, I just settled for 1 shade of red or clear polish for long periods of time. I used to think it was silly to have any color out of the ordinary on my nails. But it’s just the contrary. Your nails are supposed to pop. It adds character to every outfit and reveals a little bit more about you almost in the same way that perfume will. I am automatically drawn to bright shades that make you look twice. Aside from the occasional classic cherry red, grey or black, I am in love with neon pinks, corals and blues. I have a neon yellow and purple that I have yet to really wear. Perhaps I will brave them one day. I’m anxious to get my hands on a bottle of Chanel’s Jade polish, if at all possible.

Pictured above are ORLY’s Passion Fruit, Nina Ultra Pro’s Punki Pink and Sephora’s Myrtille. ORLY is quite possibly the highest quality nail polish I’ve tried thus far. It’s a lovely matte finish and lasts longer. Nina Ultra Pro goes on without the slightest shine and will show up dull unless you apply it over a coat of white polish and follow with clear. Sephora’s color is perfect.
