Last month, Perricone MD sent me a jar and sample tube of their infamous Cold Plasma face cream (a $150 value) to try and I’m impressed. This is the second product they have sent me that I have been pleased with. The first one was their Face Finishing Moisturizer. It’s just what my sensitive combination skin has needed to pull through these dry months of cold weather. This non-greasy cream sinks right in and hydrates throughout the day and night. I usually apply it to my face and throat each night before bed right after washing. It comes with a scoop for application so that you don’t constantly dip your fingers into the jar. This might be the only face cream I’ve used that doesn’t add to the oily portion of my skin. It does its job at keeping it at bay. I’d say the only con is the odd smell. Cold Plasma is for all ages and skin types. It fights against the major signs of aging: wrinkles, dryness, redness, enlarged pores, discoloration, impurities, uneven skin tone, loss of firmness, loss of smoothness and loss of radiance. It’s ideal if you’re looking for smoother, healthier skin. For a few years now, I’ve been a firm believer in skin care at a young age for preventative measures. Perricone is a great place to start.

Sugar StripEase was kind enough to send me a jar of their all natural sugar product to try out. It doesn’t even consist of actual wax. As a lady in my mid twenties, I have never once tried any type of waxing for hair removal. I’ve always relied on my trusty razor with the fruitiest scented cream I can find. But, as we all know, shaving doesn’t always quite do the trick. Razor bumps, burn, nicks and stubble can all be unattractive side effects of the dreaded blade. I’m certainly not one to skip a day of shaving as I cannot stand for any body hair whatsoever. So, I recently started giving thought to waxing to cut out the neverending annoyance of shaving. The reason I’ve hesitated is because of the fear of pain or irritation. This sugar concoction is a perfect beginner’s kit for me. It has given me the option of testing it out for myself in the privacy of my own bathroom before mustering up the courage to visit a salon. Though it’s a fairly simple technique, I don’t think I’ll be completely replacing shaving with at-home waxing treatments. My sensitive skin doesn’t take too kindly to heat (I much prefer cooling sensations.) and I believe I could handle it better if a professional did it quickly for me. But I would still recommend it to others. This kit includes 1 250g jar of Sugar StripEase, 15 reusable strips and 3 spatulas.

Awhile back, my grandmother got me a limited edition Estee Lauder Breast Cancer Awareness compact that I have yet to really use for fear of ruining the beautiful design if it bangs around my purse. She’s a big fan of Estee Lauder products, so I usually get her leftovers when she buys a haul of goodies. She only bought this particular product because the money went to breast cancer. The translucent beige powder inside is good for taming shine.

all items from Target, Forever21 & The Icing
I like to be prepared for everything and tend to spend money on extra little whatnots that I randomly come across while out. I thought that before heading back to DC last month, I could use: new gloves, sunnies, socks, colorful nail files, nail polish, Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse foundation and yet another Hello Kitty notepad. None of which cost over $10. I can’t help myself with cute, cheap knick knacks.

I also ordered a super soft, slouchy, neon pink sweater and comfy pajama pants from Forever21. Two must-haves for any trip: versatile sweaters and cozy pajamas.

Evian Mineral Facial Spray and Nexxus Humectress Conditioning Hairspray would make wonderful additions to any overnight bag. No matter what transportation you choose, traveling can really take a lot out of your skin and hair (not to mention leave you feeling drained). Moisture/hydration is your best friend in this particular case. Drink lots of water, keep your skin moisturized and make sure you thoroughly condition your tresses. The Evian spray is nice because it’s a quick, simple spritz of cool mist to soak up. The Nexxus spray is great because it saves you the time you would otherwise put into hair conditioning in the shower. It smells lovely and leaves locks oh-so soft and volumized. The key word for traveling is convenience.
